Uganda’s ministry of Foreign Affairs has on Friday confirmed reports that the United States of America has expelled a Ugandan diplomat Dickson Ogwang from Washington DC. Ogwang’s forced return from the U.S was confirmed by spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Margaret Kafeero, who refused to divulge details of the diplomatic incident.
However, it is reported that US police got an emergency call from Ogwang’s residence last month.
The police found Ogwang’s wife covered in bruises after being battered. Police took the battered woman to hospital.
As a penalty, the State Department asked the Foreign Affairs Ministry to recall Amb Ogwang to Kampala since he could not be arrested or prosecuted in the US. So much for Diplomatic immunity.
Ogwang who has been the Foreign Service officer at the rank of minister-counselor is expected to return to Uganda this weekend according to reliable sources.
Sources advise that the Ugandan governments says say they will provide counseling to both the Ambassador and his wife, who is – can you believe it – being sent back too – though we were unable to verify the latter. Apparently the disgusting wife beater broke her nose after she found out the nice Christian husband was having an affair.
