Our Congressman Jared Huffman was set to have his annual political fundraiser this week- and has so kindly turned it into a fundraiser for Fire Victims – THANK you!
“This is no time for politics or political fundraising. It is a time to help our neighbors in need, and that’s what we’ve decided to do with our upcoming Bounty of the North Bay event. The event is going forward this Saturday, October 14th, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at the Marin Country Mart, but it is now “Generosity of the North Bay,” a fundraiser for victims of the catastrophic fires in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties.
Here’s how we’re going to help our neighbors in need:
All proceeds from Generosity of the North Bay (including all funds received to date, and any that continue to come in) will be donated to the community fire victims fund established by Redwood Credit Union. This fund goes straight to fire victims, and will be earmarked for those in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. If you want to attend the event and have not yet bought your ticket, just show up Saturday with a gift card in any amount from either Target, CVS or any local store selling basic clothing, and toiletries. We will deliver these on your behalf to our displaced neighbors in shelters. Your gift card is your ticket. This is our biggest event of the year, so we expect to make a major difference for fire victims. Thank you for joining us in this effort.
If you cannot join us or wish to make a cash donation you can contribute directly through NorthBay Fire Relief. https://www.redwoodcu.org/northbayfirerelief
100% of proceeds will go directly to local efforts on behalf of fire victims, and you can choose how to direct your donation to specific geographic areas in the North Bay.
Our unity, dedication and commitment to this great North Bay and North Coast region is more important than ever as we begin the difficult process of recovery and rebuilding. Thank you for joining me in this effort.
