PLEASE – SIGN Senator Kamala Harris PETITION BELOW:
Via CNN: The Trump administration on Tuesday formally announced the end of DACA — a program that had protected nearly 800,000 young undocumented immigrants brought to the US as children from deportation.
The Department of Homeland Security will stop processing any new applications for the program as of Tuesday and rescinded the Obama administration policy, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

Outrage at the Trump Administration’s Dumping of DACA
September 5, 2017| Melanie NathanThe African Human Rights Coalition stands today in solidarity with DREAMERS.
The determination by the Trump Administration to end the DACA program for over 800,000 dreamers is cruel and unconscionable. What makes this particularly insidious is Donald Trump’s failure to stand in front of his action by taking leadership on the issue to call upon the United States Congress to swiftly pass legislation that affirms DACA, with a promise to sign such into law. This is indicative of the fact that his intention is to kill the program completely. The purported basis for the withdrawal of DACA makes no sense, as its lopsided justification relies on unsubstantiated assertions, blatant lies, unproductive punitive motives, and it fails to take any cognizance of DACA’s overwhelming positive impact and success.
We at African Human Rights Coalition are concerned, not only because we believe the human rights of so many young people and their families have been so horrifically impinged upon, but also we fear, that if unchecked, this sets the tone for the continued tyranny and cruelty which impacts us all, especially those in the severely marginalized communities within the immigration community and beyond.
We are calling on all to please express your outrage swiftly, consistently and peacefully and to also implore upon your representatives in Congress to work to right this insidious wrong.

www.AfricanHRC.orgSenator Kamala Harris:
Just a few moments ago we formally learned that Trump is rescinding the DACA program, which protects 800,000 young, undocumented immigrants from deportation. It is a cruel choice.
This decision undermines our nation’s values and is a betrayal to the DACA recipients who make our nation strong and represent the best of us.
We promised these more than 800,000 young people — including 200,000 in California — that if they came out of the shadows that they could become lawful, productive members of our society. Trump’s decision to shamefully break this promise and turn his back on the Dreamers just shows he is once again on the side of division and hate.
Now more than ever, it is time to roll up our sleeves and stand with young people who contribute to our society and our economy. So I’m asking:
By turning his back on the Dreamers, Trump is telling classmates of our children that they don’t belong, employees of Fortune 500 companies that they aren’t welcome, and saying to those who serve in our military that they shouldn’t be here.
Should Congress fail to act and reverse Trump’s decision, the consequences will be devastating.
Families will be split up. Young people will be forced back to countries they don’t know. Our economy will lose billions of dollars.
So if you believe that the Dreamers are Americans who deserve to be here and that this decision is cruel and immoral, then join me today in fighting back and demanding Republicans in Congress allow a clean vote on the bipartisan Dream Act that I’ve co-sponsored.
It is cruel to deport kids who grew up in America back to a country they don’t even know.
It’s on us to be their voice and to fight for them. Get involved today.
Thanks for all you do.
Kamala Harris
U.S. Senator, California
I enjoyed listening to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee, this afternoon. She is right: the U.S. Constitution places immigration law squarely in the hands of Congress. Congress needs to act. If they cannot or will not do their jobs, they should find other jobs.
Yes that is right but the obstruction by Republicans has been stinky for quite a long time now has it not?
PRESIDENT OBAMA MADE DACA A LAW BY DECLARING IT A LAW. HE CANNOT MAKE LAWS.IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. NOW THAT TRUMP HAS ENDED THIS ILLEGAL ACT OF OBAMA CONGRESS CAN AND SHOULD MAKE THE LAW. THAT IS HOW THE CONSTITUTION WORKS. OBAMA VIOLATED HIS CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITATIONS AND BROKE SEVERAL FEDERAL STATUTES BY DECLARING DACA LAW. THAT IS GROUNDS FOR IMPEACHMENT. THAT MAKES OBAMA A DICTATOR NOT TRUMP. ONE DOES NOT GET TO DECLARE OBAMA’S ACTIONS CORRECT JUST BECAUSE IT SUITS THEM.
IT IS MORALLY UNDERSTANDABLE THAT DREAMERS SHOULD STAY IN MY OPINION. NOW, WHAT SHALL WE DO TO THE PARENTS WHO BROKE THE LAW ? AMNESTY ? OH, GREAT. THEN WE HAVE NO MORE RULE OF LAW.
MY ANCESTORS CAME FROM SICILY, ROME AND SPAIN. NONE OF THEM BROKE A LAW TO GET HERE AND STAY HERE.
Well it takes a damn cold heart to punish a child for their parents mistake or indiscretions. Crossing a border or out staying ones’ welcome hurts no one. Its been proven that these undocumented immigrants provide and enhance our economy. DACA has been a success and almost a trillion dollars will be lost with what trump has done. Your ancestors had a privilege in their arrival at a time that is completely different to now. My ancestors were turned away from Ellis Island after escaping genocide against the Jews in the Pogroms only to be sent back to eastern EU to face their death. I was undocumented for a period of time – and feel perfectly entitled to claim my citizenship when I applied for because I feel my family was unjustly turned away. The truth is the Immigration system is so fucked up that all do not have a fair shot the way tour fsamily did. So instead of bursting the ice out of the cold heart of yours- speak to solution – not to criticism. Obama showed a warmth of heart and love – Trump that lying sack of shit has a heart of ICE!!!!!
