Since contracting Kehlani as a headline act for San Diego Pride, a coveted honor, there has been a spate of attacks against Jews in the United States that is very clearly rooted in the call  to “Globalize the Intifada”, a movement which Kehlani not only supports, but fervently promotes through her music videos. The Intifada has begun and Kehlani is instrumental in calling for it!  Kehlani has over 25 million social media followers. More than the 15 million Jews who exist today in the world, and amounting to around 20% of the Jewish population exterminated in the Holocaust.

Kehlani’s popular music video, “Next 2 U” which includes visual and lyrical elements referencing the INTIFADA is now seeing her message come home to the USA in the form of the hate filled violence it calls for! The video opens with a quote from Palestinian poet and then the words “LONG LIVE THE INTIFADA” and features imagery of Palestinian flags and keffiyeh-inspired clothing, all the while abusing lesbian love by made-for-men sick sexualized performances – and made even worse by considering what this attempt at glamorization is endorsing – men who “correctively rape” lesbians, parents who stab them for dishonoring them by being lesbian!  Sick irony considering what Palestinians who subscribe to radicalized Islam, such as Hamas, do to lesbians!

For weeks Jewish activists and organizations, including me, have been calling on San Diego Pride to cancel Kehlani, for the harm her videos are causing. For the hate and calls to kill Jews, that she is inviting upon the Jewish community. In the past two weeks, her calls have materialized. Whether the killer of the young Jewish couple, shot at point blank range outside a Jewish Museum in DC had ever seen a Kehlani video or not; whether the terrorist who threw Molotov cocktails willing to burn 8 Jewish elders alive, at a demonstration, calling for return of the Oct 07 hostages, saw the video or not, Kehlani’s message has spread to her fans, through social media, and cannot escape the responsibility of participating in igniting this Intifada. In both incidents the attackers called out FREE FREE PALESTINE. The latter chant is now forever attached to the justification for the slaughter of  Jews, as called for in Kehlani’s video.

Now the co-founder of San Diego Pride , Nicole Murray Ramirez, is calling on the current San Diego Pride leadership to cancel Kehlani and stating in no uncertain terms, standing against hate, with the Jewish Community.

Yesterday I was invited to speak at the TEMPLE EMANU-EL as a co-founder of S.D. PRIDE ( 1974 ) at there Town Hall Meeting for Jewish San Diegans to discuss if they were going to participate in this year’s PRIDE EVENTS in view of S.D. PRIDE booking Antisemitic singer KEHLANI to be one of the headliners at the PRIDE FESTIVAL.

Let us all remember that TEMPLE EMANU-EL was one of the first reglious to march in our parade when so many wouldn’t almost over 30 years ago.✡️

Sadly this is not the first time S.D. PRIDE has disrespected the Jewish Community as well as all of us when they refused last year to play our National Anthem 🇺🇸 at our annual STONEWALL RALLY because of our military support for ISRAEL…..also at the same rally after a individual read her poem she pulled out a PALESTINIAN scarf and preceded to give some pro PALESTINIAN remarks.

There was much discussion and yes rightfully very upset and hurt people at yesterday’s meeting and many JEWISH organizations and allies have written S.D. PRIDE asking them to cancel KEHLANI appearance as NEW YORK PRIDE has. She has even called for the deaths of “All Zionists”…What i can say about yesterday’s meeting is that the JEWISH COMMUNITY has had enough of this Antisemitism ( Hate Crimes against the Jewish Community in San Diego has been continuing rising every year) and I will let them inform S.D. PRIDE and our Community of there decisions.

My question is what the hell is going on with the governing board of San Diego PRIDE ❓️ It been like a revolving door for endless coming and going “Executive Directors”….can we ever forget how they wanted not to let our LGBTQA+ POLICE OFFICERS march in there uniforms and now this!!!

Many of us believe that the PRIDE BOARD is out of touch with the vast majority of our Community and many don’t understand why they elected a Chair that lives in Chicago!!!

This is not about freedom of speech this is about HATE SPEECH ‼️

Whatever the JEWISH COMMUNITY decides even if it’s not participating in the parade I will stand with them.✡️ Let us all pray for the Jewish individuals who were attacked in Colorado this past Sunday and many now in the hospital in serious conditions 🙏

I would like to add this for the San Diego Pride Board to munch on: A little poem:

I say this as a Jewish lesbian – you hurt +  offend me!

I say this as a prior VP of the world’s largest Pride, San Francisco Pride – you have abdicated your duty to be inclusive toward all LGBTQI+ members of our community, and are participating in the call for extermination of your own community members = that is disgusting!

I say this as a global human rights defender who has seen what Jihadists do to LGBTQI+ people, first hand, while fighting criminalization, seeking pathways to freedom, and providing safe shelter for our Muslim LGBTQI+ family = your ignorance and flagrant disregard for the suffering and oppression of your own Muslim LGBTQI+ family = is shameful.

YOU do not represent Pride – you have chosen a new selfish uninformed path that betrays and defecates on those who have supported you – and worse yet it is a violent path! That is not who we are!
