How to Condemn a Terrorist Massacre against Jewish People

By Melanie Nathan, October 18, 2023

On October 8th AHRC, the organization I lead, issued this Statement – for those of you who missed it. When contemplating this remember an attack against Israel is an attack against Jewish people.

AFRICAN HUMAN RIGHTS COALITION CONDEMNS THE TERRORIST ATTACK ON ISRAEL AND THE MASSACRE OF ISRAELIS IN THE STRONGEST TERMS

There is no world, no circumstance, no condition, anywhere, anytime where the premeditated, cold blooded door to door massacre and hostage taking of entire families, including infants, elderly and infirm, can be justified or condoned.

There can be no human rights organization or those aligned who can remain silent without unconditionally condemning this barbarism and brutality in the strongest of terms.

The world must surely have learned by now that those who have attained solutions to conflict and what many in the world may perceive or allege as oppression, the only ultimate solution has ever been by peaceful means. For that we can look to Gandhi – King – Mandela.

It is for this reason that I am convinced that this attack in all its aspects was designed to kill Jews and was entirely in furtherance of the Hamas Charter – to obliterate Israel.

AHRC has worked with Israel’s LGBTQI+ community – as your global community our hearts are broken. AHRC has worked with LGBTQI+ Palestinians, forcibly displaced by anti-LGBTQI+ families and conditions, for you we maintain our concern for your futures in this torn world.

To all Israelis who lost their lives in the massacre may your memories be a blessing. To families may Hashem comfort you among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. May the injured be healed and the hostages return home safely, unharmed to their loving families.

Today My personal Facebook post I noted the following:

I will dedicate a post at some point to the Colleges and their reflections – that is after I am finished throwing up. It may take a while.

I will dedicate a post to our LGBTQI+ organizations – ditto above!

However I could not have said it better than the Rabbi from the Synagogue I attend, Rabbi Angela Buchdahl: LINK HERE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAEjbCtZiqw
