UGANDA ARREST ME TOO I am GAY

Melanie Nathan, Lawyer and human rights activist and Kristina Lapinski, Filmmaker, from GAY U.S.A. the Movie participate in the GetEQUAL UGANDA ARREST ME TOO Campaign.

There are two things the U.S.A. LGBT and supportive community can do to help Ugandan LGBT community while the Anti-Homosexuality Bill (Kill the Gays Bill) is about to pass Uganda’s Parliament:

1. Sign the Petition at SIGN THE PETITION HERE http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/6535/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=12199

2. Take a Photo of your hand “Uganda, Arrest Me Too” as described below:-

HELLO, thank you so much for signing the petition calling on Senators DeMint, Grassley, Coburn, Enzi, and Inhofe to use their influence to kill Uganda’s “Kill the Gays” bill. The petition is picking up steam, and we want to keep the pressure on!

There’s one more thing you can do to help build the moral crisis we need to get the attention of these politicians:

Would you take a photo of your hand, with the words “Uganda: Arrest Me Too” written on your hand, then send it to us and post to your social networks? We want to make sure that these right-wing politicians know that there are hundreds and thousands of people who are watching them and holding them responsible for this bill’s passage. And we want Ugandan politicians know that we have our sisters’ and brothers’ backs — calling on them to arrest all of those who know, love, and support LGBT Ugandans.

We want to move quickly to start putting these photos online and continue the momentum against this bill. Grab a marker, write on your hand, take a quick photo with your computer or your phone, send it to us at info@getequal.org, and then post it (with a note and a link to the petition) to your social networks.

Thanks so much for your help!

  1. Done. Mine is here:

*as someone who works with people & their computers on a daily basis, you need to find a way to simplify the sending of photos. I’m sure many more would have obliged if they knew how?

    Just sayin’…
